Teller Loop

The Teller Loop is a pneumatic tube system designed for internal rapid medical transport, like moving fragile lab samples, essential medications, small medical tools, and surgical equipment between laboratories, surgery wards, and consultation rooms. Pneumatic transit isn't a new innovation [↗] ; it is, in fact, older than the commercial telephone, yet it remains a luxury that most Indian hospitals are forced to live without. Because existing systems are imported from EU or USA, hospitals and organizations face a stressful gamble: Is it worth the massive upfront costs? What happens when it breaks down? How long will we wait for imported parts while critical infrastructure sits idle? The goal of this project wasn't to invent a new technology, but to reiterate it to democratize it. The Teller Loop was built from the ground up for the realities of the Indian environment: designed to withstand local temperatures, engineered around the availability of local pneumatic equipment and control systems, designed around how local staff actually handle equipment, and fronted by an interface intuitive to medical staff. By ensuring every component is designed, fabricated, and repaired locally, the project replaces foreign reliance with domestic resilience, drastically cutting costs and bringing vital infrastructure to the people who deserve.
